CaK, 17022019

Post by bart1805 »

Today another try at CaK. Seeing was way better than yesterday, transparency was not good.

100mm ED f/9 _ Lunt Blocking filters _ 1 Baader K Line filter _ Tw PST #1 filters _ ASI290MM

@900mm

And @ about f/16 with a Baader VIP. Next time will try it at about f/13.
[Edit: remeasured the distance to the sensor. It is even longer: f/18.]

Thanks guys!
There was something else interesting when imaging today. One of the PST #1 filters is mounted on the nosepiece of a Skybender. The other one is mounted inside. I never tried what happened when you tilt the second one more. I could see the histogram move to the right and get a bit wider when I applied more tilt. One more for on the list of things to do: find out what the effect is on the quality of the images (or the bandwidth) when more or less tilt is applied.

Thanks Alexandra and Maurits!
I made a new version of the one with the Baader VIP. Processing was way more aggressive. Really curious what you all think about it:
