Solar highlights from Feb. 17, 2019

Post by Astrophil »

I had some unexpectedly nice weather and good seeing today so out I went. Using the Qunatum Six and Solar Spectrum, I captured todays highlights.
The surface images were taken with and without a focal reducer. I didn't see much difference in detail. Also played around with the prom images.

Thank you all! I was pleased as to how they turned out as well. I tried to process them a little softer this time but old habits are hard to break.

Excellent, Phil

The first photo is at the limit of 6" aperture resolution. You reached it. Now you are limited by aperture, not by atmosphere or skill.

Thanks guys. I do appreciate the kind words and motivation.
Valery, that's good to know that the setup is reaching it's potential. Looks like I need another scope.

Yes, Phil, you need a larger scope. We always must be ready to use the best seeing moment without too much limitation from an aperture size. I am always disappointed when I meet the situation where I am limited with my telescope aperture size - a typical case in a warm season when I imaging with my 6" refractor.
