Hazy Sunday Sun 20190224

Post by Carbon60 »

The sky was mainly blue, but with a persistent white haze just in the wrong place....typical!

Anyhow, I managed a session with my CaK setups for FD and close views and even got the 150mm Ha up and running for the first time since about September. Nothing is as sharp as I'd like, probably with the haze.

CaK FDs in mono and colour using a Lunt B600/Omega CaK/K-Line and 1.5x Barlow. 72mm F6 refractor.

And a closer view of the plage region.... Basler 1920-155um and 2.5x Powermate. Tecnosky 125/975 F7.8 FPL-53 ED Doublet APO Refractor.

Finally the same region in Ha using my 150mm modified Lunt 35s (DS). Basler acA1920-155um with 2.5x Powermate. Best of six with the others ending up in the bin, such were the conditions.

Very nice images indeed :bow I too had milky white skies but it was too irresistible not to image through it :)

Stu,
Very nice images. I love the 3D effect in the Ha mono image.

Thanks, Bart. I just need some good clear skies and time to image to really put it to the test.
