PST FD w/enhanced ROI March 6, 2019
PST FD w/enhanced ROI March 6, 2019
I'm still playing with the PST today. Finally, there are a few interesting regions to see and image. I tried to enhance those regions by using a 2.5x Powermate to gain detail. Most of which was lost when reducing it to 40% but there was still a slight improvement. These additional images were merged into the original full disk. My thought was to save time by avoiding a mosaic but this was equally time consuming.

That’s very good detail for a 40mm aperture. Nice work Phil!

Thanks for the comments. The PST is a fun little low resolution scope that shows a nice full disk. It should be even more fun when the solar activity picks up. Today I used two Barlows to increase the magnification in hopes of boosting detail.
