Solar flare 22 March

Post by JohnW »

22 March 2019. A solar flare around AR2736 on the Sun's western limb - each pic is a single exposure with a Canon 550d camera of this area.
Taken at 1.20 pm Eastern Australia summer time.
Yellow pic (lower) is at 540 nm thru a WO 81 mm refractor showing the sunspot group.
Orange pic is at 656 nm thru a Lunt 100 mm H alpha solar scope showing the flare.
Sky was a bit smokey. Thanks for viewing.

Good images, John. I fear the fun will be over by the time we get some Sun here. Nice to see others have had better luck.

Fantastic DSLR shots :bow :hamster:

We have cloud because the Sun has an AR on it, it will be sunny again when the Sun has no spots on it. That is the general rule in the UK :(
