CaK and H-alpha, 07042019, new AR
As Valery already showed there is a new AR visible. First tried the 150mm Newton, not a lot of succes, seeing was just not good enough. So stepped over to very small.
Mosaic of two images in CaK with the 40mm PST-CaK mod, only things I still use are the #1 filter and the gold tube with the 40mm lens.
Doublestacked 2 PST#1 filters, ASI290mm.

Then tried CaK with the 100mm f/9 ED. Used the 2 inch Lunt nosepiece with the two filters (so not the B600) and the two PST#1 filters. ASI290mm again.

Seeing got better, but wanted to see how this new AR looked in H-alpha with the 150mm f/8 Skywatcher refractor.
Baader D-erf - Baader 35nm - 1,25x Glasspath - Single PST etalon - Coronado BF10 - ASI290mm. Nice view!

These are really nice Bart! You're getting some nice results from the ASI290.

Thanks Mark, I like the camera! And I really like the pixel size compared to the Grasshopper. Same image scale with the ASI290MM as when using the Grasshopper and a 2x Barlow. And then the Newton Rings step in too. This way the imagetrain is a little bit less heavy.marktownley wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 7:43 pm These are really nice Bart! ps. I received the SolarMate. Tried to send you a pm, but somehow it does not work.

Solarchat has been very sluggish for me today too in terms of navigating around. Glad the solarmate arrived.

A new version of the H-alpha image. Stacked more images and applied more Gamma in IMPPG. Better or worse?

Very beautiful and well processed images, Bart. That short prominence on the limb just above the spot is clearly visible in the CaK image as well as the fringe of spiculae.

Thanks guys!
I agree with you Frank about the second one.
Saw that the mosaic was not perfectly round. Tried another program:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/researc ... te-editor/
Freeware and very easy. Results were better than with Photoshop.

I'm quite tempted with one for this reason, I think it might be nice for prom shots with my SM90. It also has nice fast frame rate too.bart1805 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 8:12 pm Thanks Mark, I like the camera! And I really like the pixel size compared to the Grasshopper.
