AR12738 at High Res through 150mm refractor and QUARK Chromosphere.
Hi all,
April 11 morning was reither cloudy and foggy. However in two hours the sky cleared.
The seeing was average but with some improvements. So, I took my computer and Quark and
quickly set up the telescope.
Here is the best shot of the AR12738 I was able to take.
The telescope is SkyWatcher 150/750 equipped with the ARIES full aperture DERF, Quark Chromosphere and Basler ASA 1920-155 camera. A 2x TV PM barlow has been used to get F/43 at the etalon (remember that Quark has it's own build-in 4,3x telecentric barlow). F/43 at the etalon helps to keep etalon's bandwidth maximally narrow and so, best possible image contrast.
Thanks for looking.
Valery

Nice one, Valery. Lots of fine detail.
How many Quarks did you get through before you got a good one?

Re: AR12738 at High Res through 150mm refractor and QUARK Chromosphere.
Hi Valery,
That is a very nice image, despite the weather. I am also keen to try using a Quark Chromosphere on my Celestron 150mm Omni XLT fitted with an ARIES D-ERF. Do you use a 2" 2X TV barlow immediately at the output of the telescope followed by the Quark Chromosphere? Any other adapter/spacers required in between? Can you show a side-view picture of the telescope with the Quark and Basler camera?
Thanks.
Alfred

Yes, correct. And no optics in between.

Re: AR12738 at High Res through 150mm refractor and QUARK Chromosphere.
It's uniformity is far from perfect. Visually the non-uniformity is relatively easily seen, especially when moving accross the sun disk.
It is very narrow, but not really uniform,
