AR2738 in High Res & Full Discs | HA, CaK, WL | April 17th 2019

Post by MalVeauX »

Heya,

I was able to get some sun this morning and seeing was decent. I was able to image in longer wavelengths at larger scales for some high resolution examples of AR2738's great spot with the C8 Edge. The shorter wavelengths were a lot harder to image due to the seeing limitations and the limitations of my mirror (SCT). Full discs done with an ST80.

Superb images Marty...well done :bow

I'm envious of the ability to image...two clear mornings in a row and I was stuck in a conference room for both, and the long weekend forecast is for rain  Go figure, LOL.

Thank you all, :bow

Had high hopes to see AR2738 round the limb with some surge proms, but didn't get a chance. A weird storm front rolled the entire Eastern coast of this continent today bringing lots of out of the norm weather. Tornadoes, major gusts, lots of rain, etc. Most areas in my state effected by it lost power, trees down, all kinds of weird stuff. We're used to this in hurricane season, but not in April! Happy to report my observatory and contents are happy and dry. Too bad really how late it was before things cleared up, the seeing is usually excellent after a storm!

From today, my surrounding area:

Hi Marty...

Glad to hear you didn't suffer any damage with the sever weather!!! This system is funnelling moisture all the way up to the Great Lakes, and we have had steady rain the past 2 days and tomorrow too...no severe weather though. I'm sitting under the dark green streak on the north side of Lake Ontario.

Might have sun on Sunday...hope to squeeze some time art the scope before Easter lunch if I am lucky.

Oh dear!!! that sounds scary! I am glad everything survived. We are getting fabulous weather, 26-27 degrees and clear blue skies, anyone would think the UK had moved to Spain :)
