A late afternoon bonus - 9 May 2019

Post by Helen »

There were some gaps in the cloud late this afternoon so I thought I'd play. This is a solarscope SF70 set on a Megrez72, and an asi1600 mono with 2.5 powermate. Captured with sharpcap, stacked in as!3, sharpened in IMPPG and finished in CS2.

He Helen,

A very nice full disk image!

BTW. Can you, please, make images smaller in volume? 300Kb is absolutely enough for such size b/w images. My home internet is raither slow and I tried to load you images several times.

Very nice FD, Helen: clear, sharp and contrasty.

You might want to consider joining Flickr and use the BBCode share function to upload, as this will reduce the file size and make it quicker for those of us on slow broadband connections. ;)

Very nice disk. I'm even noticing some spicule details on the limb.

Very nice disk indeed. The processing is very good.
May I suggest an orientation with the North to the top ?

Thanks for the encouragement everyone 😁 I was pleased with how well it came out - I grinned when I noticed the spicules! I'll avoid large file sizes in future (the 1600 does produce big ones!!). I also need to work out how to correctly orientate the image...
