For CaK funs. Mini activity at High Res 280mm aperture.

Post by Valery »

Hi solar imagers

On a totally blank sun face the CaK and CaH offer more to see, especially at a high resolution.

Here is a recent image of the sun (near the center of the disk) I took in CaK line at a high resolution.

The angular resoluton at CaK line 393nm is 1.67x higher than at H-a 656nm. So, my C11 280mm telescope

has the same resolution as a 468mm telescope in H-a line.

I was lucky to take several images where a full resolution has been achieved. This image is one of them.

Right click on the image and choose "open in a separate window" to see the image at a full resolution.

Thanks for looking.

Valery.

Very impressive Valery, the details are very sharp and remarkably angular :bow

That's excellent Valery! Very much like DOT images. You are at the cutting edge of hi-res solar!

Dear Valery,

That is superb CAK imaging. Congrats!!! What is your imaging train like? (e.g. from the output of the SCT to the camera).
