Last Friday morning was lovely and so I attempted a high res FD mosaic in CaK which I've been thinking about for a little while. It sort of worked, but not entirely. There are a few stitching errors when you zoom in and it's a little patchy, so this is work in progress with improvement targets to reach next time.

Anyhow, during recording of one of the panels I was treated to a plane transit..... only my second ever Coloured orange despite being CaK.

Re: Solar FD in CaK and plane transit
FD looks pretty good to me and plane transits are always fun. They always seem to occur just after my capture finishes

Well done Stuart!! I agree with David, they do usually just occur after recording
That's a very fine full disc too always tough to stitch when the Sun is so quiet.

Nice images Stu! Were you using the 5.86um pixel basler there?

Re: Solar FD in CaK and plane transit
Many thanks, everyone.
Mark, yes, the IMX174 5.86um. Also the Tecnosky 127mm with Lunt B600/K-Line/Omega filter train and 2.7x Barlow.
I’ve since made a mask to reduce the objective to 110mm to see if this sharpens up the edges, which seem a little softer than the centre. If I see the Sun again, I’ll give it a run . Just more murk and rain today.
Stu.
