Big Prom & Region with Activity | HA | June 2nd 2019
Heya,
Terrible weather lately, have't been able to do much and missed a lot of the big prominence the past few days. It still persists but it's a little less grand. There are some large feint ones around the limb, but weather didn't allow me to capture them. I did get some data on the little region with some activity swirling around generating filaments and the two largest brightest prominences this morning between clouds with the 120mm refractor before the rain began.

Very best,

Marty,
Where can I see posts on this equipment and your capture technique?
I’m simply not understanding how you and others get the quality you do.

Hi Jack,
It really comes down to seeing, sampling and processing. No magic.
This tutorial is a little dated at this point, as I do it differently these days, but it will at least still cover a lot of the basics of setup, acquisition, stacking and some niche processing (forgive me its inverted, not everyone likes this, but at least it gives you an idea).

Marty,
Thanks for the tutorial. I’m half way through and extremely excited. Your initial captures are completely within reach of my rig and I have been working on my post processing to great effect. Your tutorial really puts it all together. Can’t wait to finish it
