May 16 2019 AR12741 and a limb prominence at a high resolution with a 280mm.

Post by Valery »

Hi all,

The sun is spotless for a month now - since May 19. To remind you how the sun looked a month ago, I present you two images from May 16 2019. I took these two photos with my old C11 280mm F/10 Smidt-Cassegrain telescope equipped with a full size ARIES 295mm dielectric energu rejection filter (DERF) and a nice tiny H-a eyepiece - QUARK Chromosphere, 0,7x reducer and Basler ACA 1920-155 camera.

The seeing was variable from quite poor to rare moments of good. I do not use Solar Scintillation Monitor and manually start and stop the recording procedure.

Thanks for looking and comments.

Valery

Valery,
Simply gorgeous. I myself enjoy the fluffier nature of the to0 image....it conveys so much depth and motion. And I love the clarity of the second.

Do you have a link that describes your capture and processing workflow?

Jack

Thanks, friends, for your kind words. Looking for a next sunspot. This may takes years of waiting. :(
