Hi Gang,
Thank you for letting me join Solar Chat. I live in Macclesfield, Cheshire, UK. Where our local Star does show it's self from time to time.
I have been a keen observer of the Sun since getting back into Astronomy in 1990.
Back then I was only able to look in white light. Now I own one of the newer PST telescopes (Blue lens) and really enjoy looking at the Sun and imaging it with a QHY planetary camera.
Here is one image that I took last month when there was an unexpected Sun Spot visible.
At the moment the telescope is sick. I have a rusted ITF filter. But a new one is on the way. And it won't be long before I can use the telescope again.
I am a member of the BAA-Solar Section and the SPA-Solar Section. And I am the observing director for Macclesfield Astronomical Society.

Re: Hello
A very warm and sunny welcome Paul what a great image too. I am glad you are addicted to the Sun now, sounds a bit like me when I first got my PST.
I think in Macc you probably get even less Sun than me I used to be a member of Maccastro too a very long time ago in the Jodrell Bank days

Re: Hello
Thank you for your wellcome Alexandra.
I think I remember you from the Jodders days.
My PST is out of commission until my new ITF filater arrives, hopefully this week.
I can't wait to see and image ouremoved star again.
