Halpha picture with my new Lunt
Hello,
Fisrt of all, I am just new on this chat.
I am Xavier and I live in France. I would like to know if I can do better than this ...?
The two are the same but one os colored in red (some friends said it’s more beautiful ... but from my side, I prefer in black and white because you can see more details).
Let me know if you have any suggestion ...
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Xavier
Welcome! Good looking images (in this case, I prefer the black/white one as well).
Very nice piece of equipment you have as well.

Re: Halpha picture with my new Lunt
Xavier,
Great pictures!! I especially love the lower one that is colored red. It seems few imagers use red and if they color their images use some shade of orange or yellow. I like red because it looks more like what you actually see through the eyepiece.
Welcome to SolarChat!
James

Re: Halpha picture with my new Lunt
A very warm and sunny welcome Xavier what a fantastic opener! I look forward to many more
You say 'can I do better', we can always do better as that is the fun I've been trying to do better for 12 years now but every single image you take is a masterpiece in itself.
How many images do you take and stack and what programs do you use?

Hello Alexandra,
Many thanks for your message!
I used Registax6 and photoshop. It’s from 500 pictures and the soft selected 150.
I found Astrosurface who seems a very cood software. I have to make some tests with it!

Welcome aboard! Nice images and equipment! I too prefer the B&W images, as you say I can see more detail.

Re: Halpha picture with my new Lunt
Give ImPPG a try for doing the sharpening, don't use Registax for sharpening for solar work

Very good images. Much better than my earlier attempts. Will they get better? Of course they will!
