Pores are a good sign for increased activity. I have rain today and cannot try for them. :(

The SDO HMI continuum image shows that the pores seem to be increasing in number. 12:13am EDT ( US ). And the AIA 171 instrument shows another tiny area entering onto the disc from the northeast.

Wow, surprised me. Our damp firework is still fizzing. Maybe its cycle 24s swan song...

Hopefully it is drying out and will light off. It is certainly looking better. Time will certainly tell where it goes. Hopefully it will progress to something beyond tiny pores.

James

P.S. Later I looked at the SDO continuum image. The pores have grown to a small spot and have developed a penumbra around them!

Now the area that sits at 4 o'clock to it and close by has pores too. Definitely cycle24 going out with a bang!
