AR2765 on 8th June '20

Post by Carbon60 »

The sky opened up only very late in the afternoon after a frustrating wait for about an hour hoping the big black cloud covering the Sun would move out of the way without dumping a shower. Thankfully it moved, I remained dry and for a few minutes I had a great view. AR2765 is still looking impressive.

The seeing was getting worse by the minute from a rather mediocre start. :(

More rain tomorrow and the day after, and probably the day after.......

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

That's a really impressive image Stu. Your seeing seems happy at 150mm in Ha a lot of the time.

Fantastic image you captured, Stu. I can't believe how soft and fluffy is your processing of the plasma. I feel like I can go sleep on it

Great job.

Franco raises a good point. What is the secret to your fluffy proccessing?

Very nice, Stu.

Good to hear that you got an opening to do something (no such luck here unfortunately).

Stu,
It looks so fluid. But it's ionized gas. Excellent image!

I usually use deconvolution and sharpening in ImPPG and when it looks about right I just dial things back a couple of notches. Better to be a little ‘softer’ than over cooked. In the case of this image, a slightly slower shutter speed because of the conditions gave the image a slightly softer edge as well.

Great image, Stu. Agree with your process, I always avoid oversharpening.

Many thanks, everyone. We've had clouds and rain since. Might be better this weekend before it rotates around the limb.
