The clouds have been building over the morning but a peep of blue sky was poking through roundabout 11.00 am, and then I decided to set-up. I checked with Austrian site Kanzelhöhe Observatory but they were greyed out. But I still knew what to expect. The usual equipment was used, at f/30. AR12765 in the flesh my second this week!
The seeing was highly variable going all the way from 9 down to 0.29 on the SSM. I fired away by eye and the 1st movie was reasonable I must have shot another six and the imppg image was getting no better and so I ticked the capture box for “auto exposure” and I eventually got this. I am using Genika Astro.
On playback the visual experience is noticeability attenuated over the full duration of the capture, in my case 7 seconds. So I suspect a continuous stream of averaged light levels for the exposure. It certainly looked smoothed out but gently flickering and within the parameter of the ‘light level meter’ of 255.
87fps, µS : 7000, Gain 6521, Gamma 1.25.
This the best of the bunch. Hope that you enjoy this
John
