The Sun - 14th June 2020
Early session today as the sky was cloudless when I got up. Lots to do / see with the AR still visible in both WL and Ca-K as well as some faint proms.
Start off with the Ca-K full disk. the usual 6 panes to cature, stitched in MS ICE.
Then the proms. Tricky today, very faint and even with the ASI in 2x2 bin mode these were difficult to grab and even tougher to process. So a bit noisy in some cases, I may have another go at processing them later.
Close up with the AR in Ca-K and then white light
Continuing the white light theme I picked up some nice granulation
And finally, just as the clouds started moving in I switched to the Bresser for a white light full disk. A bit soft this one but it was a bit of a rush job tbh.

David,
Very nice images! I love the first full-disc CaK image and also really like like the two white light granulation images. The colored one shows them a bit better though.

Very nice David. What Equipment did you use for the granulation images?

Nice collection of images, David. The CAK FD and close-up images turned out very well.

David I curious are your filters before or after your wedge. I have a wedge and filters on order.

After the wedge Dan. I have a 2" UV/IR cut filter so I could put that in front of the wedge I suppose. Not sure what I would gain or if I would melt / damage the UV/IR filter? At the moment I have 1.25" continuum and UV/IR cut filters stacked on top of the Lacerta ND3 inside a T2 extension below my eyepiece holder. I kept forgetting to use the UV/IR when imaging so now I don't have to remember, it's always in there ready and has no detrimental affect when used visually.
What wedge / filters did you go for?

David I ordered the Lunt wedge and the Continuum, UV/IR from High Point, all 1 1/4. Will be using them on a Lunt ED 102 mm.

Nice, you should get some great views / images with that setup. Just reading your other thread on this. I see others use their UV/IR in front of the wedge so will give it a go if the sun shows up today.
