Full disk 16-06-2020

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Sunny as usual and here today's Blank Sun disk  except of some filaments and a filaprom near the disappeared AR 2765 area.

Hopefully the bright spot seen in the Heliographic image of today appears tomorrow at the Northeastern limb at about +20°

Hi Rainer,

The filaprom looks great on the solar disk. I have always wanted to ask you, what are those slightly darker lanes on the first image? Are they caused by clouds?

Very nice images Rainer. Clouds here have prevented me from getting a decent view. That filaprom looks great! It looks like we have a blank WL sun again. Minimum isn't over yet.

Hi Alfred,
what are those slightly darker lanes on the first image ?
That is the difference between the Hot Spot area and the corners. BTW my H-alpha disks are always a mosaic of 9 images. That is why they have this pattern. Do you look at my images at full size ? Open the image in a new tab and when the mouse shows a loupe with a plus sign click on the image. My Sun disks are approximately 1870 pixels in diameter.

While the darker areas oscillate around 190 the brighter areas oscillate around 210. So there is a color value difference of about 20. This measured in 8 bit colour depth. Perhaps it could be killed using a flat but that is too much work for me. I am lazy by nature

Looking at it as an Icon the dark lanes are more visible then at 100% size.

Thanks Rainer for the explanation. Yes, flats should resolve that. They are lovely in full resolution too!!
