June 22 2020 Observations

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Back home in Edneyville in western North Carolina. Temp 80F. Average seeing and mostly clear skies. I observed from 12:30pm to 1:00pm EDT local time ( US ).

Coronado SolarMax II 60DS. 16x and 21.5x ( Ha )
I can see two vague filaments on the north central disc in double-stack. I can also see two difficult small plages on the disc as well. One is below and well to the southeast of the two filaments. The second is on the west-central part of the disc not very far from the limb. In single stack I can see two prominences on the NE limb. Spicule mottling visible across disc.

Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x and 50x. ( WL )
Bland disc. No detail outside of fine granulation.

Eric,
Daytime heating is building thunderstorms. We will probably get some rain soon.

Mark
Morning is often effective here to avoid summer rain.

Looks like a lovely session James :hamster: if you are home does that mean your father has recovered?

He’s doing better than expected and I have got him all set up. Now we are waiting for the doctor to call.
