Sol from the 30th of June 2020.

Post by eroel »

Hi:
Again hazy, clouded and rained, but I kept waiting for the few rapid closing holes in the clouds and got some shots.
Thanks for looking, used the Solarmax 90-DS, the 102mm f/9 Meade with a CaK mod, and the 102mm f/7 Stellarvue with a 4X Telecentric and a Daystar t-scanner.
Have a nice and safe midweek.
Eric.

Quite impressive how you managed to get that quality in those conditions. Nice work!

Franco, Rainer and Jochen, thanks for looking and commenting.
Jochen, well I sit down looking at the monitor and when the sun shows I go out an take a look to see how long will it stand there and start the recording.
It is very hard to keep on pausing and starting the videos, but well, I better do it that way to get some results.
Best regards,
Eric.

Well Eric, with your "patience as a saint" you've certainly got what it takes to get such clear and cracking images.

i know what it's like to try and work-out what the clouds are doing and where a break could (or should) occur, where I also use satellite-imagery for that purpose too. So you are not alone in just sitting it out.

i am just waiting now for a new PC to replace the currently barely-usable one in the observatory, so some patience from me for that - for some more imaging..

Regards
Terry

Thanks for the feedback, I am clouded again and looks like it will be like that for a long time. (raining season)
Best wishes to all,
Eric.

Persistence pays, Eric. Excellent job and beautiful images under challenging conditions.

I thoroughly enjoyed these prominences Eric, every one of them is treated with loving care to make the most beautiful composition :bow :hamster:
