August 5 2020. White Light only.

Being down at my father’s in Lowndesville SC and getting him set up for pacemaker surgery I have had little time to observe. White light is all I have gotten today. Temps are in the mid 80’s at 11:00am while I am observing. For now skies are mostly clear.

Using the Orion 70mm solar refractor at 25x and 62.5x I can easily see the plage of AR12770. I see one well formed spot complete with penumbra. I also see a single pore nearby. I can faintly see the faculae to AR12769. I can’t see AR12768 at all. It will probably become more visible as it approaches the limb due to limb darkening.
