Sol from the 16th of August 2020.
Hi:
Today all day was clouded, no gaps on the clouds, so had to record when a thinner cloud passed in front of the Sun, so had to keep moving the exposure slider up and down all the time.
After I took the FD image, I saw that the S active zone was starting to flare, so changed to the Stellarvue-Daystar scope to try to get something of this flaring.
I just had a chance to take a few shots, thanks for looking.
Wish you all a nice starting week.
Eric.

Hola Eric,

Super images given the seeing conditions and great catch of the B1 flare.

Re: Sol from the 16th of August 2020.
Alexandra, Rainer, James, Jochen, Stu, Franco and John:
Much appreciated feedback, thank you all.
Well, I am having bad weather because we are in the middle of the raining season, but now with the Pandemia I am home more time so I can sit at the observatory and while working at the PC and at the phone (attorney matters), I also have the scopes and programs ready for the Sun.
I prefer to have gaps in the clouds because you can get the recording going all the way, but when it is hazy or clouded all over, then I have to wait for thinner parts of the clouds where you can barely see the Sun, but by changing Gamma, Gain and Exposure sometimes I can finish a recording or keep the fingers at the exposure sliders and at the pause button and the eyes at the histogram numbers, so to finish a more or less an even recording.
Prominences with this type of recordings are difficult to deal with, aside that there are problems to align and stack the frames, so we also need luck.
Have nice week and keep safe.
Eric.

Re: Sol from the 16th of August 2020.
As usual Eric some crispy-clear imagery, so thanks for those.
I'm not sure whether in the UK, we ever have a rainy-season now, as it used to be April's, but no-longer as it can be wet, dry, windy or calm, cold or very-hot - or anywhere in between those and at anytime of the year too.
Today, it was mild with and without the Sun, but with heavy-rain and thunderstorms - "in August"...
Although we in the UK are supposed to be in a "Temperate-Climate" - I prefer to call it a "TemperMental Climate." !!!
Regards
Terry
