Spot, Granulation, Facula, Pattern in KLine with a T300

Post by allhoest »

Hi!
Here a first set of pics taken from St Véran (French Alps) with a non aluminized 12" mirror.
The pics are taken in KLine (296nm).

Alex,
I thought at first these were taken in Continuum until I read your post. The supergranules of the lower chromosphere look a lot like the granules of the photosphere but are a bit larger. Your resolution is excellent here! Very nice images!!

Excellent work, Alex.

I also thought I was looking at the photosphere in that first image until I noticed the finer detail. Absolutely stunning capture!

Absolutely incredible imaging :bow :bow :bow I presume this is the Photosphere granulation with faculae visible around the spot. Is this the Baader K line filter? as this only shows the photosphere with enhanced faculae, however, you confuse me with 296nm?

Hi!
Thanks for the comments.
Yes, I used a Baader KLine filter at 396nm (not 296nm!).

Thank you again for the comments.

Leo, you would wonder my setup: the mirror is an old mirror from the 80's which has been converted to solar, the truss and other parts are second hand, which I adapted a bit in my garage.
The old F6 optic looks to be good and I have a good secondary also.
I should give a try with this setup in my area.
