Sunday Sun 30th August 2020

Post by Carbon60 »

A couple of hours of sunshine this morning, so an opportunity to image a bit more leisurely than of late, where things have been done in a bit of a rush. Ha images taken with my DS 150 mm/Lunt 35 mod on a Basler acA1920-155um (IMX174) with a Powermate 2.5x. The Ca II K FD was captured on a Altair Astro Lightwave 72mm/F6, an acA2440-75 with a 1.5x Barlow, Lunt B1800 module, Baader K-line and Omega filter. Finally, something different for me, a moon image in colour captured using the video mode on a Nikon Digital SLR as a three pane mosaic, converted to SER files using PIPP.

Ha mosaic of a magnetically disturbed region.

and a closer view of the filament with spicule field.

The Ca II K FD

and finally the Moon in colour (a first for me). Not exactly high resolution when you focus in close, but for me the more important thing was getting the process to work.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

A brilliant set, Stu. The Ha close ups are stunning and I really like your moon in color.

The leisurely approach sure paid off! Exquisite images, Stu, like the ones I hope to obtain someday.

Hi again Stuart.
The Moon image in colour is certainly brilliant and better. I've yet to try that with my Orion ED80 and Altair colour GPCAM.

All the Solar-images are excellent and you've done-well to capture the proms and surface detail so well too from Lancashire where your weather has previously been awful. Brighter here today, but not enough to image anything here...

Regards
Terry

Great shots Stu! I managed to get a bit of imaging in yesterday, just going through the files now.

Fantastic proms Stuart, it was a good solar morning yesterday :hamster: :bow

The Moon in colour has been on my bucket list for a while. I was going to use my colour Blackfly but the mosaic will be very large, however Andy Devey gave me a bit of motivation as he manged a 25 mosaic of a colour moon :)

Stu:
Looks like you had a super session, including the Moon.
Beautiful HR images and CaK FD.
Good week,
