A few from this morning in Ha and Ca II K.
First up is a full-disk on a DS Lunt 60 in mono and colour. Captured on a Basler acA1920-155um camera and 1.5x Barlow

Very nice images Stuart. The full disc CaK images show the plage in the south that contains new pores very well. The Ha images give me a good idea what is going on today. Thanks.

Hmmm that baffles me Stuart, I can't understand why the Lunt filter on it's own the granulation cells are very large and flat disc shaped. Whereas with the Omega filter they suddenly become extremely small and dotty? I didn't think CaK was tiny dots, I thought it were photospheric like reverse granulation cells? Unless in the CaK on it's own you are seeing this, then by adding in the Omega filter you are actually seeing higher in the Chromosphere and seeing spicules instead of granulation cells?
Do you have any thoughts?

A beautiful series Stu. Those Ha disks are so evenly illuminated. Hoping that activity will pick up again soon before the sun starts to be lower on the horizon.

My CaK DIY (three Omega filters + PST Cak "yellow") always seem to give "sharper" contrast features compared to others. I'm using the ASI 1600MM and sampling at 0.79 arcsec/pixel. My seeing is pretty average to bad.....
I use Firecapture, AS3! and a gentle tweak in ImPPG.
I always put it down to the effects of reducing the image to around 800 x 800 pixel (from 4656 x 3520) for suitable upload sizing.
The two attached images: one is a full frame JPEG from the full frame TIF (I can't seem to be able to upload an original TIF file???) and the other a reduced JPEG. (EDIT: Uploaded the original TIF file to dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pzkp539a8bjyf ... l.tif?dl=0 ) (What I should do is test the CaK DIY filter bandwidth on the spectrograph.......)

Many thanks everyone. I’m going to re-run with and without the additional filters multiple times to see if the effect is consistent as seeing and processing can significantly affect the look of the output image. This weekend looks promising weather wise.

Unfortunately not. The seeing conditions haven’t been suitable for a fair and accurate comparison. Okay for FDs, but nothing more. It is something I need to do when conditions allow.
