September 10 2020. Fleeting Observation

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Time, about 1:15pm EDT local time ( US ). Skies mostly cloudy. Temperature is 79F.

Today I got a brief peek at the sun in Ha only. Using the Coronado SolarMax II at 16x I can see 4 prominences around the disc. A big one in the SE and two others in the NE. I also see a small bright prom in the NW. The view was too brief for me to study them for a decent description. I also see a small bright plage in the SE disc quadrant. It's the plage that contained yesterday's pores. I see only one filament today. A small one in the southwest.

The sun went in before I could get white light. SDO shows a blank disc.

Sounds good, James.

I had a very quick peek in WL earlier today as well; you didn't miss anything.

James, thanks, I just had a chance to get one set of FD the 10th, due to bad weather.
Wish you a nice weekend.
Eric.

Eric,
I hadn't seen much lately by You or Rainer. I would have guessed you two were under cloudy skies.

Have a sunny weekend.

James

It’s a dead squib today. Gone. Or at least I didn’t see it.
