September 12 FD CaK H-alpha proms

Post by LeoD »

Hi
Mostly bad weather was recent weeks so I had to be patient, but having 2,5" afternoon seeing forecast on Saturday, turbulence, clouds with haze on top I decided to give myself a chance. The result was predictable - below average.
This time I made FD in CaK in prime focus of 130/7 with 183mm camera (click to see at 3727x3820).
Closeup of the small bright spot in SW part: Ca f/28 and H-alpha f/30, 174mm, which you can compare side-by-side, and a group of vegetation proms on NW limb.

Leo

Very nice session! Especially proms + disk in Ha.

I love the color on the Ha images. It's close to natural as seen by the eye.

Hi
I haven't been here in a while... I miss SPOD on main page but first of all your kind words, thank you so much! :D
Yes, I tried to be close to a visual observing in H-alpha. Just for comparison, this is my shot of AR12713 on June 16, 2018 made with camera ASI290MC.
regards, no colour adjustments.
