Visual Report 07/11/2020

Post by AndiesHandyHandies »

Hi

First chance to observe for some time.

Calm with haze and clear breaks. Seeing OK.

Mak180 PST Clave' 25mm
Added a circular polariser after the re-focus lens and before the Beloptic KG3 on the eyepiece.
Supressed most of the PST reflections.
One slight off axis reflection. Seems to have been reduced my adding the Mak dewshield.
Just one dim reflection a fair way off axis, Baader 35nm or Omega 1.5A Blocker?

12.40 UT

02.30pm for me

A nice prom. Horeseshoe with open end up. Little feed to the bottom side. Broad feed on the top side with a little jet above the horseshoe. Between this jet and the lower side of the horseshoe a dim lumpy jet.

Similar view to the Quark Chromo, flat image and dark background.

Little fine spike below.

01.05 UT

Large sunspot group bottem left for me.

Top round sunspot with penumbra. Dark mark down to the right.
Dark triangle below. A black curve to the left with two legs and the top longer.

Two dark areas below. Dot and line leaning left with inverte comma to the bottom right.

White tracery down from the middle spots and to the right of the bottom dark spots.

Cheers. Andrew.

What a lovely report and great to see you get an observation in as it has been so cloudy recently :hamster: I know you love prominences and I think you have the best imagination for shapes but you could also have fun trying to spot each one of these and tick them off your list. I had great fun in the last solar cycle trying to spot them all :)
