Solar prom of 7th Jan

Post by JohnW »

I processed another image I had from the 7th January 2021 showing the hedgerow prominence on the Sun's SW limb.
Canon 550d, single exposure of 1/80sec x 800 iso. Lunt 100 Ha scope (SS). Thanks for viewing.

John,
I give you two thumbs up on this one!! You choose to be different and challenge the usual way by using a DSLR. And you have made it work. And here with a single exposure! I wish I could figure out a way to capture disc detail using my iPhone using single exposure captures like this. I can often get the limb prominences but disc detail eludes me.

Thank you James - it took me a couple of years to perfect the dslr images on my equipment. A lot of experimenting to get it right. Cheers John W.

Thank you everybody for your kind comments. A hot night last night here in SE Australia with 24°C min and 37°C during day. Very hot due no doubt to the old Sun. Cheers John W.
PS. Hope you folk in the UK are keeping safe.
