January 24, 2021 FDs and prom
Hi,
I didn’t see many images from the 24th posted here so I felt obliged. It must have been cloudy everywhere. I shot through thin clouds passing by each time I made an exposure. The sun put on a nice face though with three interesting regions, a few small proms and a decent amount of filaments. Here’s the catch for the day with the LS80T DSII.
Phil
Interesting but faint Prom to the southeast and something a little different, a brown sun.

I appreciate the nice comments, thanks.
James, your visual observation reports provide much more insightful descriptions than my over processed images. Your reports give me a chance to see what I might have overlooked.
Instead of a brown sun, I think “hot chocolate” would be a better description of that color.

Re: January 24, 2021 FDs and prom
I really enjoyed these, each one has a unique quality about it
It is good to explore new colours, the other day a CaK image I took a few years ago popped up on the screen (when in screensaver) and it was a rose coloured one. It looked gorgeous so I must do that colour again. It is the SDO CaK colour and I decided I really like it
