January 26 2021 Observations. WL Only.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Session time is 1:40pm to 1:53pm EST local time ( US ). The skies were foggy and cloudy up until noon clearing out to partly cloudy by 1pm and then to clear by 1:40pm. Unfortunately by then I have to get ready for work :( . Seeing is not so good today. Temp is 66F. I did not have time to set up and do Ha.

Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x and 50x ( WL )
I can see the double spot of AR12797 in the SW with faculae stretching towards the limb. I tried to find AR12799 in the far NW but never could see it. It should be very close to the limb and the seeing is shimmering the limb badly. I cannot see the granulation today.

Blessings

James

A brief session james but you got a view in. Looks like the sun is quietening off again.

Considering the Halpha solar disc is full of bright plage it doesn't really translate into spots ;) hopefully in the next rotation round they will have grown to some good sized spots for you to see :)
