Something worth looking at whilst the Sun will be quiet...

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

As it appears that our Sun is going to have a nap for a few days, this NASA web-link will show some interesting details of the STEREO satellite and two other missions in progress - relating to Solar-imaging and data collection...

https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/20 ... g-missions

Shows other features of what the only one of two STEREO satellites as "STEREO-A" is still able to image (not just of our Sun, but also some Sun-lit planets too.

Unique Solar System Views from NASA Sun-Studying Missions - including the ESA and NASA’s Solar Orbiter and NASA’s Parker Solar Probe.

Finally, I only wish that the STEREO-B satellite could come back to operational-life, but alas it is most probably doomed as "space junk."

Cheers
Terry

Many thanks Franco and Pedro.
Yes Pedro - so much poor weather lately, is affecting most of Europe and beyond.
In fact I reckon the Prognosis Weather Chart drawing-system has been running out of black Ink with all the isobar-lines all over the maps...

CLEAR SKIES SOON.

Terry
