Sneak peek at lunchtime 1st February 2021

Post by Montana »

A beautiful sunny day all day, it does wonders for the soul. I just had to skip work at lunchtime and get the PSTs out.

I over sharpened the CaK a bit, but never mind. PST's + 1.6x Barlow and FLIR Chameleon

Nice disks Alexandra! The Ha sun is quite subtly active. The sun came out here but was 'trapped' in numerous Teams meetings

You got some excellent Kelvin Helmholtz clouds! I'm hoping there are some gaps in the showers later in the week to try and get a lunchtime session at some point.

A great way to spend lunchtime.
Very nice FDs, Alexandra and that’s a wonderful cloud formation. You were so lucky to see these :)

Nice captures Alexandra, there is now a mini sunspot on the NW region.

Alexandra,
Both of your discs look good. They certainly show what is going on. I am glad you found a chance to image.

Beautiful clouds too!

James

Fab images Alexandra and the bight AR in the NW (when you did the capture earlier today) is showing the signs of producing a definite spot, which is confirmed before midnight today/1st.

It did seem a likely possibility from my earlier post of today, the then AR of two - was becoming more active.

This is possibly a return of AR2800 from about 4-days ago and yet to be verified...

Cheers
Terry

Excellent solar images Alexandra as are the sunset clouds :bow

It looks like the small spot in my images from the 30th has developed much more!
