Session time is intermittent between 10:00am to 10:30am EST local time ( US ). Skies are mostly cloudy. Poor seeing. The temperature is 43F.
Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS. 16x ( Ha )
With considerable difficulty through and around clouds I can pick up only a single prominence in the SE. I also get a small filament in the SW. I tried for a filament near the limb above the prominence(s) in the SE but never could see it. With clearer skies and better seeing it should have not been difficult.
I could see the discwide mottling of the chromosphere but with intervening thin clouds and poor seeing it was really soft.
Orion 70mm Solar Telescope 25x ( WL )
Featureless disc. No spots, pores, faculae or granulation.
All while listening to Mezzo-Soprano classical singer Frederica von Stade.
Clear skies and good health to all...
James

Re: February 6 2021 Observations
As Dan says James, things will certainly pick-up and I suspect sooner as there is action in the S.E., about to come over the limb.
Report follows as an addition to my 6.1.2021 report of yesterday.
Cheers
Terry

Re: February 6 2021 Observations
Thanks for the report James, I was struggling with it yesterday too. At 50mm aperture in Ha the sun had a saw tooth edge to it with the seeing which is never a good sign. The filaments were difficult.

Weather not playing nice over there either it seems.
Clearer skies when the activity ramps up, I'm sure.
