Re: How to collimate SolarMax 60 H-Alpha Telescope
Hi There.
Welcome to the forum. We're going to need more detail to help you here.
How do you know it is out of alignment / collimation? Can you describe what you see / image to bring you to this conclusion.
Best,
Mark

Re: How to collimate SolarMax 60 H-Alpha Telescope
The more likely issue is that your etalon in now "de-contacted." One or more of the etalon spacers has loosened, and therefore you will see multiple off-band images/reflections because the etalon plates are no longer parallel:

Good luck with the damaged scope Juliano and as Mark T., says, to check the insurance policy you have and hopefully you'll get it sorted soon.

A thought on having it repaired.
If it is new, contact what ever company you purchased it from to get help returning to Meade.
If you purchased it used, try a local dealer to see if they can arrange to return it to Meade or you will have to keep at trying to get a response from Meade on your own.
Beast of luck,
Brian

Re: How to collimate SolarMax 60 H-Alpha Telescope
I have always heard that Meade is hard to get in touch with concerning issues/repairs. This worries me as well because I have two Meade Coronado scopes. I wish you the best of luck. Let us know how you fare.

Maybe best to remove your post detailing your email address and telephone number, Juliano. Just a thought.
