Ha Full Disk 15th February

Post by marktownley »

An unexpected clear gap around lunchtime meant I was able to sneak out and take a look at old yellow face, at the same time using my new solarquest mount (see my first impressions on the review thread). The sun is quiet but the filaments show the magnetic activity of early cycle 25. Scope used was the 50mm Lunt etalon on the 60mm f6 double stacked with a Daystar Quark. Continual scudding cloud was provong challenging, and i'm pleased with how it came out.

In other news, my pier got sent off to be galvanised today, should be about 2 weeks before I receive it. It's the '1400' on the right.

Hi Dan, Were you referring to Mark's missile-looking thingies (I meant Piers, Posts, Poles really) or were you referring to the images ???

Mark, for a quiet disk, you have well-captured the filaments, as well as noting those in the far-north-"ish"
Also noting a small and fairly bright North-pole region too.

Cheers
Terry

Yep. They do look like missiles. Without warheads or nose-cones!

Great to see your images Mark, also good to see the bright plage in the north, I wondered if anyone would get a snap of that :bow :hamster:

I was so busy with work yesterday I forgot to set up and by the time the hubby said 'I thought you were going to set up' the blue sky had gone. Not got much to do today so you guessed it - cloudy! I'm doomed, or it is your solar goodies arriving in the post ;)

I see you're opting for the galvanised finish, Mark. ;)
