FRIDAY 19-2-2021 AR2802 AND MORE TO COME...

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

The N.W. Quadrant Sun-spot pair has reduced to a single small Spot at datum and has apparently been allocated as AR2802...

The N.E. LImb Sun-spot has been confirmed as larger than the above-mentioned and should be easier to see and image today.
If it survives long-enough, it will likely be AR2803 (to be confirmed)... There is quite a lot of prom-activity from this region, so hopefully will continue to display such..

Although prominence-activity is showing to be a little quiet and shallow, hopefully that will change and as today's excellent-images of such which have been posted on SolarChat today show, there is still much to see.

STEREO is not showing anything significant approaching from the EAST for the next 3-days or so...

Surface detail shown in the SDO Tri-colour image of late this evening/Thursday, show that that the disks' surface is not as quiet as other lines of light show and the active areas can be easily aligned to the known spots etc.

CLEAR SKIES
Terry

I noticed the emerging sunspots in the NE earlier today in the SDO continuum image but clouds stopped me from grabbing a scope and looking for it myself. Thanks for the heads-up.

Thank you to James, Mark and Stu.

Apparently the newbie in the N.E. is AR2803 and it appears to be quite large..!!!

No other significant changes over the last 12-hours..

CLEAR SKIES - PLEASE

Indeed "The Good, Bad and the Cloudy" I guess befits the current situation Alexandra

Hope for the best.
