Sun 25th February 2021

Post by Montana »

Well, I was going to take the day off on Friday as the weather forecast is amazing, however my boss set me a full day's work in Manchester, so bang goes that idea. So today was a work at home day and at lunchtime I sneaked off to take some images of the Sun with the PSTs. What a beautiful solar disc :hamster: Sadly there was lots of cloud around and it was a bit like fishing for a rare event to get a capture without some cloud but it was lovely to see the Sun again. All taken with the Halpha and CaK PST and a FLIR Chameleon.

There was a very large prom in in the SW.

Life gets in the way sometimes but at least you got some ray's. Thanks for sharing Alexandra, well done despite the limitations.

Some nice disks and proms! I also like the soft, almost feathery look of the orange h-alpha sun.

Alexandra,
Beautiful discs on all accounts and you even got the remnants of that large prom that's been visible over the last couple of days. Very nice CaK discs too! The last one reminds me of the color that SDO uses for the AIA1700 wavelength.

Beautiful images, Alexandra. Hopefully you’ll get more sun time over the weekend.

It’s nice to see some activity for a change.
