h-alpha and CaK, February 24th, 2021
h-alpha and CaK, February 24th, 2021
Spring has begun suddenly and unusually early in the year for northern Germany, with mild temperatures and quite a bit of sun in the afternoons, so I could capture videos in h-alpha and CaK for an hour. The seeing wasn't good enough for high resolution images, but I got full disks and close-ups of the active regions.
As I hadn't looked at GONG before imaging I almost missed the big prom until I accidentally cranked up the gain so far that it caught my eye. Unfortunately I had already taken down the h-alpha scope and no time left to get it out again, but CaK worked quite nice.
Regards,
Frank

Beautiful shots Frank!
Your full disks have great uniformity across the field of view and that prom is spectacular.
Cheers.

Thanks everybody! I had one more spring day on Friday, but now it's mostly clouds again.
But then one of the fun things about SC is that there is always somebody somewhere in the world with clear skies who posts solar images to look at!
