Sun from Moggerhanger Starshed, 26 Feb
Hello everyone, it been a while (years I think) since I last posted here. I've been observing the Sun in the meantime but sort of forgot to post images, probably influenced by the many days of low activity through the solar minimum.
It was a lovely day today with moderate seeing so I only offer an image of the whole solar disc at the native focal length of the Lunt 152 DSII, I tried Barlow lenses but the results were poor. So, this image is a 2 pane merger and was obtained from 1000 frame video files reduced in PIPP and processed with AS£, IMPPG, Lightroom and Photoshop. It's a bit over processed due to my attempts to bring out the large prominence on the NE limb.
Regards to all.
Gordon

Gordon,
That's a beautiful image. You have not lost your skills since you have been gone.
I have been on SolarChat for about a year and a half and I can't remember seeing you on here but I am relatively new so welcome back!

Good to see you back, Gordon. Nice FD. Did you finish your speaker cabinet build?

Thanks, everyone, for your feedback.
Stu, I've done several more speaker builds since Feb 2018 (my last post). Most recent was a rather large pair I finished in June last year. IF you're interested have a look at https://www.flickr.com/photos/74614447@N02/albums.

The speaker cabinets look superb. I'm sure they sound as good as they look.Gordon Ewen wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 10:38 pm Thanks, everyone, for your feedback.

Re: Sun from Moggerhanger Starshed, 26 Feb
I've thoroughly enjoyed building the speakers over the last few years - kept me busy during the solar minimum. They represent fantastic value for money. I've heard commercial speakers costing over £30k that aren't as good as the kit speakers.
I note that there is minimal activity on the Sun today.
