Post by AndiesHandyHandies »

Hi

A nice Spring day today with good seeing.

10.40 UT 90mm F6.7 Triplet, Baader 35nm, VK 3x TE, Quark Prom, 25mm Clave'

N Oclock.

9.00 Sunspot near edge. Just above a prom leaning down with bar over leaning back up.

9.30 A separated flat bar.

10.30 X-mas tree.

2.30 Jet leaning down with bright base, and small bright br under top making pyramid shape.

4.00 Jet leaning down.

7.00 Small jet leaning up slightly and a shorter one just below. Horizontal going off down from top of small jet. A little spike just below that.

I changed to the Revelation long 3x Barlow. On axis brighter and more details seen.

12.10 UT Mak180 F10, Baader 35nm, Beloptik KG3, Omega 1.5A Blocker, PST, 25mm Clave' on Ioptron Mini-Cube.

Prominences beter than with the bino-viewers.

10.30 Short square prom with Y prom above the right hand branch longer.

12.30 Little jet, Then a sqiggly jet leaning left with a shorter broad jet off the base leaning right.

3.00 A slim gas flame jet. 3.30 little jet.

6.30 Little bright jet small thin one below with short horizontal bar above that a gap and another bar.

9.00 Very thin straight up jet with shorter broader jet leaning down from slightly above surface.

1.40 UT

Went back to 90mm. Got out the Quark Chromo for a change. With VK 3x TE.

3.00 Pyramid curving up.

4.00 A jet leaning down.

7.00 A jet leaning up with a short jet below.

9.00 A hedge with side jets and saw tooth top.

10.00 Small open pyramid with double sized one above and then a little blob higher up.

1.40 UT

Changed to 3x Revelation Barlow.

9.00 As above.

10.00 Scottie dog looking right.

2.00 A rounded top hedge with sqiggly bits inside.

5.00 Little sqiggle with short jet by it and then a gap and a seperated jet leaning right.

1.55 UT Lucked on a arch prom dissipating and lifting off.

2.00 Turned into an arched prom. Bright bases with thin top.
Middle seperated, top broad arc and bottom a broken sided pyramid leaning left.
Top broadened at the top and bottom rose up.
Top very faint base and bright top knot, middle a top blob with faint one under, bottom small faint blob at base and curved back jet above.
Top leaning in with faint base and thin top, middle blobs faded and drifted down, bittom bright base jet and thin top lean down.
Top little jet lean down with seperated double up top, and bottom just high up broad stubby bright jet lean down.
Top seperated band, bottom lower seperated band with one higher above.

I got my tablet out and bought up the recent Cerro Tololo image.
I could see the same proms which looked exactly the same.

I think I will use the SDO images on the tablet to work from in the future. Easier to join up what I am seeing then.

Cheers. Andrew.

Weather and time only permitted me to do white light today.

I use both the SDO images and GONG for reference.

Hi James

I have been observing blind up to now. More in development mode.

Knowing what I should be seeing may help picking out faint details I think.

Cheers. Andrew.
