We have one of those ultrasonic bath washes where I work.

Your image gets briefly very sharp. It reminds me of visually observing. Not that we can see much in CaK of course.

Hi JAPP,

Do you mean the dancing white spots ? From my experience with my old camera it tells me those are hot pixels ...

I have them too and I clean them out in my image processing.

Interestingwise in your second animation they are dark so they must be some dust spots. I clean the chips of my cameras uaing Methanol, Aether and Isoprpyl alcohol by wetting optical paper. Just wiping from one side line by line. Never back and forth.

Hi JAPP,

Great animations.

I clean my sensor with a lint-free cloth using the soft eraser end of a pencil to press it against the glass and rub it around. I then use canned ‘air’ to blow away any remaining fragments of debris. Several rounds of this achieves a perfectly clean sensor.

These are great animations :bow :hamster:

Stuart, don't you use a de-static gun from a record player as well?

Ha...good point, Alexandra. Yes, when some of the dust bunnies are particularly stubborn and don't simply blow away, then I also apply a few squirts from an anti-static gun and that seems to release them enough for the air blast to do its job. As I say, it can take a few rounds to finally remove the last tiny piece of crud, but it's worth persisting.

I regularly clean my sensors in this way, and filters, barlows etc
