Hi guys,
Question, I am trying to understand how to polar line my solarnax iii. Do I really need to align true north or can I just use magnetic north? I want to start doing photography and videos of the sun.

Re: True North Alignment?
You have to align to true north pole when in North and true South when Down Under. I do not see in your profile where you are ¿?Solar Seeker 52 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 7:45 pm Hi guys,

Aligning on magnetic pole will give you field rotation.

Depends how much 'drift' you're prepared to tolerate. I often just plonk the mount down and eyeball rough north.

If it's just for solar use; it honestly doesn't matter all that much.
I also do as Mark described. Just put it down, roughly align north (although I've gotten pretty good at getting it quite accurate) and good to go.
