4-4-2021 1st light this year - of my 3-lights FD's

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Well it's been a bit hectic here in temporarily-resolving the observatory's faulty computer problem and replacing-it with a small-screen laptop, which itself is much more difficult to use, but at least allows now the three Solar-scopes to do what they are meant to do.
The computer is to be taken-away for examination as to its' start-up problem and maybe away for a while - unless hopefully a simple snag... :?:

This afternoon the sky turned crystal-blue with no haze or the normal clouds, but was a little turbulent though... :hamster:

This allowed plenty of time to make final adjustments to the WL ORION ED80T-CF scope - which had been taken down for cleaning (although the objective cannot be easily removed, so still not perfect - by far... :band No F-stops now required as a Polariser is now in front of the mono-
Altair GPCAM :bow

As expected the two Lunt-scopes performed very-well and now I am able to capture the 3-lights in one session. :band

There may be more to do with imaging-results, as I am unable to use the two large-monitors with this small laptop, so apologies if not as good as could be. Finally I hope to start using the many Barlows soon to get some close-up's...

Enjoy
Terry

Many thanks James, Jochen and Mark.

At least as James has said, I can do what the observatory was meant for albeit the likkle laptop is only any-good for imaging. I transfer to a better pc in-doors for processing.

Just shows how much better the large-monitors in the observatory (1=hi-rez, which can be swung-out close to the scopes for fine-tuning/focusing).
With my less than good eye-sight at present, would normally be a breeze, so hopefully the u/s computer will be back in operation soon.

Best Wishes for Clear Skies (which is occurring here at present)...

Terry

Many thanks Maurits - I am trying, but today was a tad too-cold and 50% cloud and haze too, so decided to stay in the warm instead.

Regards
Terry
