Small Offerings after a long lay-off 12/04/21

Post by DJD »

Trying to remember how to do this after an 18 month lay-off.
Managed a session early doors, lots of mistakes and seeing not cooperating.
My Tal/PST mod seems to be playing up a bit. The sweetspot such as it is seems very close to the edge
of the field. I can't really remember how it used to be, but something might have gone wonky in the interim.
Tried some full disk with my front mounted SM40 on an 80mm F6 but that was a bust. Could not seem to get
a uniform coverage, so retired to the obsy for the proms.
Could have been worse, first light attempt a couple of days ago, I could not get the rusted obsy lock to work, then
could not find my cameras.
Anyway, glad to be imaging again and a few SERs to play with.
Not great but a couple of images from this mornings attempt.
50 frames stacked from 1500 frame concatenated SERs
Best wishes to all,
David

David:
Very good images.
BTW, I also forget how to image after a few months of not attending the rural observatory.
I thought that I was the only one loosing how to do it due to my age, but thanks now I feel better, you made me think (too many things to deal with) :o .
Best regards,
Eric.

Likewise David, after just about four-months I also needed to re-learn how to use three solar-scopes and new programs too, so you are not alone.

Excellent captures, so you've caught-up well and thanks for sharing

Thank you everyone, it is nice to be imaging again.
Just for completion I have teased out another prom from the bright murk and NRs that is half my field at the moment.

Welcome back, Dave. Excellent images. It really is surprising how quickly we can get rusty during even relatively short breaks.
