Monday Sun 12th April 2021

Post by Carbon60 »

We're having quite a run of beautiful weather here, albeit a bit on the cold side with a covering of morning ground frost, so yet another opportunity for solar imaging this morning.

FDs again in Ha and Ca II K. The region that hasn't quite developed into a sunspot (still a collection of pores) is looking particularly bright in both lights and there are some nice proms to the east of this region. I decided to take a closer look using the 60, but with a 2.5x PM instead of the usual 1.5x Barlow. All imaged with a Basler acA2440-75 um.

...and Ha on the Lunt 60 (triple stacked). 1.5x Barlow.

Here's the plage region with proms. Lunt 60 TS with 2.5 x PM

I tried with the 250mm RCT, but the seeing conditions were absolutely diabolical at the image scale used with this setup. Waste of time.

Thanks for looking.

Stu.

Very nice Stuart. The plage stands out very well in both your Ha and CaK images.
