Session time is 10:30am until 12:15pm EDT local time ( US ). The seeing is fair at first dropping as the session goes on. The skies are mostly clear. The temperature is 70F.
Coronado SolarMax II 90 DS. 32x, 44.5x and 64x ( Ha )
The AR plage in the SE quadrant is easy to see. It has an H shape to it. I can also see the small spots within it and the plasma following the field lines. It is the only plage I see on the disc today. I can see some tiny filaments SW, West, and NW of the plage. I also can see a much larger filament in the far north. There is also a small filament in the NE near the limb.
Prominences still rule the Sun today. The SE limb has a superb bright hedgerow of them and the NE limb also has a nice one. There is a small prom on the NW limb. The SW limb has a large faint one with a couple of others south of it.
The mottles are easy today and I can see the spicule layer on the limb.
I did three Ha images today. Two of the prominences and one disc shot. One prom image has some stacking artifacts but the proms turned out OK. I gave that one a magenta-red color reminiscent of the proms as they appear to the eye during a total eclipse.
Celestron NextStar 102 GT w/Altair wedge and 540nm filter. 55x ( WL )
Visually I can pick up between 10 and 12 pores/small spots in the area of the plage seen in Ha. I cannot see it's facular component in continuum. I can however see some faculae in the SE toward the limb and with difficulty a couple of flecks of polar faculae near the south pole.
The granulation can be seen easily at the beginning of the session.

Re: April 12 2021 Observations. Visual and Imaging.
Nice report and images James, the new active region seems to be steadily growing. Sounds like it's nice and warm where you are, sunny skies forecast for me for the rest of the week (but i'll believe it when I see it). Off on the boat tomorrow for the rest of the week now Boris has lifted some of our lock down restrictions. Taking the travelling kit with me so hoping I can get some sun in the middle of the countryside away from the world.

I envy you Mark getting out like that. I would love a boat in a canal or river in the countryside. Stay in touch if possible. Image when you get time and drink a beer for me if you can.
Be safe.
