Spot 2814
I had some good seeing on the 16th, so I spent 3 hours imaging 2814.
Taken with my LS50 mod and a 5x Powermate. Btw, I noticed I get a hotspot with the PM (reflection?). Can I get rid of this some how? You can see it as a faint dark spot moving around center left.
Thanks!
Can I embed .mp4 files in here? [media] does nothing.

Re: Spot 2814
Hi Chris,
An excellent animation and very well done and thanks for sharing too.
I can't really make-out a moving dark-spot as you mention.
BTW can you post your capture(s) etc., direct on SolarChat too ??
Cheers
Terry

Re: Spot 2814
That is a really lovely animation a nice brightening at one point.
To answer the questions, I think the MP4 will be added to the post but the user will have to download and open the file to see it. Usually to embedd in the post (to be eligible for a SPOD) you have to save the file as a gif for use on the web.
If you have a reflection with the powermate then you have to change the distance between the camera and powermate. I had a horrible reflection with 2.5x powermate and I corrected this by adding a 4cm spacer between the powermate and the camera. You could try pulling the camera out of the tube and see what happens at different distances.

Nice animation. Lots of subtle movement captured there.

Re: Spot 2814
Thank you both.
Cheers Alexandra! I will try and add an extension next time. I bought a PMT T-adapter, so you would think it was designed to work at that distance. But I guess it might be different for solar.
My gifs never look good, which is why I prefer a video.
